Graduation FAQs

Students, parents and family members are encouraged to review the answers to these frequently asked questions. If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact us. 

Students must purchase  regalia from Barnes and Noble/University Book Store.  The anticipated cost of regalia is $220.

Students can purchase regalia from the Barnes and Noble/University Bookstore in person or by ordering it online.

Purchase in person directly (with no additional shipping charges) by going to the Bookstore starting on April 2nd. The regalia will be available to take home immediately.

Students who choose to have regalia shipped directly to them (for an additional shipping charge) by using the link below must order by April 23rd.

Order & Ship Regalia

If a student receives Honors, they will receive their honor cord on Exit Day.  To receive Honors, a student’s cumulative GPA must be a 3.5 or higher.

Students will also receive Sigma Sigma Phi and/or Military cords on Exit Day if applicable.

Graduation rehearsal will be on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at Gore Arena at 2:00 PM. Attendance is mandatory for those participating in the May 7 Commencement Ceremony.

Please bring your cap and gown for the class photo, which will take place at the conclusion of rehearsal.

There is not a guest cap on tickets for students. We welcome all of your family and friends. We will have a livestream option for guests who cannot attend the ceremony.

Guests must enter through the front main entrance and may not save seats or block-off a section of seating.

Wheelchairs, walkers and strollers must remain on the concourse level of the arena.

Graduates must be in McCall Court by 8:30 AM on Thursday, May 7, 2020. Guests may start arriving at 8:30 AM.

Parking will be available behind the Convocation Center. Golf cart shuttles will be available to help transport guests from parking to the Convocation Center.

Professional attire is requested. Men should wear dark slacks and dark shoes under gown. Women should be mindful of heel height.

Students may keep personal items in McCall Court during Graduation. Each graduate will have a designated seat where they can leave belongings. However, CUSOM is not responsible for the loss of any personal items.

As mentioned, this is a professional ceremony. We would recommend professional dress for all guests, but it is not required.

Handicapped seating is available throughout the top of the concourse of the arena. Please ask ushers or security for assistance.

There will be no reception following Graduation. Please enjoy the afternoon with your family and friends.

The family hooder MUST be a DO or MD.

If a student has a DO/MD family member who will hood them, they will need to complete the Hooder Regalia Information on the mandatory graduation web form.

Family hooders must wear regalia and are responsible for arriving at graduation with their own regalia or rented regalia ready for the ceremony.

The anticipated cost is $120 per family member regalia.  Rented regalia will be shipped to your address and includes an additional shipping/return charge (label included). The regalia must be returned via the shipping label after Graduation. The only regalia at the bookstore is for students.
