Graduation FAQs

Clear Bag Policy

Guests are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the following policies before arriving at the venue to minimize time spent searching bags at security checkpoints.

Bags that are approved include:

  • Clear tote bags made of plastic, vinyl or PVC that do not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″
  • One-gallon clear plastic zip-style bags
  • Small purses or clutch bags that do not exceed 6.5″ x 4.5″
  • Medical or diaper bags must be accompanied by a child

Bags that are NOT permitted include:

  • Backpacks
  • Printed patterns or tinted plastic bags
  • Drawstring bags
  • Fanny packs
  • Camera or binocular cases
  • Large purses or bags

The cost of student regalia for Graduation is covered by CUSOM. Students must fill out the Mandatory CUSOM Graduation Form and include their information for ordering of regalia. Regalia will be picked up in Levine Hall during Exit Day on May 7th.

Students with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher will receive their Honor cord on Exit Day.

Students will also receive Sigma Sigma Phi and/or Military cords on Exit Day if applicable.

We will not have an “official” Graduation rehearsal, but we will go over graduation details and read all graduate names during Exit Day on Tuesday, May 7th.

Please bring your cap and gown for the class photo, which will take place in the afternoon of Exit Day on May 7th.

There are no tickets for our CUSOM Graduation Ceremony. Students may invite as many guests as they like. 

A livestream option will be available for guests who cannot attend the ceremony.

Guests must enter through the front main entrance of the John W. Pope Jr. Convocation Center and may not save seats or block-off a section of seating.

Guests may ask ushers or security for assistance with wheelchairs, walkers, or strollers.

Graduates must arrive to the John W. Pope Jr. Convocation Center (McCall Court) at 9:00am on Thursday, May 9th.

Guests may also start arriving at 9:00am.

Parking is available for all guests and students in the Convocation Center parking lot.

Golf cart shuttles will be available to help transport guests who need assistance.

Professional attire is requested for all students.

  • Footwear should be appropriate for climbing stairs and walking across stage.

Student personal items may be left in McCall Court, but these items will not be supervised during the ceremony.

This is a professional ceremony. We encourage professional dress for all guests, but there is no dress code.

Handicapped seating is available on a first available basis. Guests may ask ushers or security for assistance.

If you require special assistance, please complete the Access Request Form.

Campbell University DO and MSBS diploma frames are available for order through the Campbell University Bookstore.

There will be no reception following Graduation. Please enjoy the afternoon with your family and friends.

The family hooder MUST be a DO or MD.

If a student has a DO/MD family member who will hood them, they will need to complete the Family Hooder information on the mandatory CUSOM graduation form.

Family hooders must wear regalia and are responsible for arriving at graduation with their own regalia or rented regalia ready for the ceremony.

The anticipated rental cost for regalia is $140 per family member.  Rented regalia must be ordered by March 31st and must be picked up at the Campbell University Bazaar Campus Store in the Student Union the week of May 6th. The regalia must be returned to the Bookstore IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE GRADUATION CEREMONY.
